Celebrating a Multi-Cultural Community Vision Celebrating our ethnic diversity, towards a seamless multi-cultural community. Mission To promote, facilitate & develop capacity towards greater interaction, understanding and trust across cultures Central Singapore District is one that is rich in heritage and cultural diversity - we host many cultural and religious icons of the major races in Singapore - from Chinatown and Little India to historic temples, mosques and churches. The composition of residents in our district also reflects the multi-ethnic community that we work, play and live in. In order to celebrate these very valuable assets in our district, the Central Singapore CDC set up The Racial and Religious Unity Steering Committee in Central Singapore (TRUST Central). This is the first district-level body set up to promote racial harmony. TRUST Central supplements the efforts of Inter-Racial Confidence Circles (IRCCs) at the constituency level, and Harmony Circles (HCs) at the local level. TRUST Central aims to be the common point for exchange of information, best practices and resources among the many other like-minded organisations that are working to promote racial harmony. TRUST Central aims to be a catalyst to add value to the efforts of like-minded organisations, as well as to provide inputs where appropriate. Also an initiator of programmes towards a greater racial appreciation and understanding, TRUST Central organises a rich diversity of activities to encourage natural and meaningful interaction amongst our residents, regardless of ethnicity. These activities include celebrating and involving all in ethnic or religious festivals, as well as through arts and sports programmes.
