The role of the CDC will be to facilitate the process of
making residents' proposals happen. The CDC will channel the residents' proposals
to the relevant organisations and work with them to realise/implement residents'
ideas. Organisations can also approach us to implement community projects within
the Central Singapore District.

Phases of Imagine! Central Singapore programme 2003
Phase
1: Publicity and Awareness
Coffee for Your Thoughts
The aim of this phase is to generate interest and create
awareness in the public about the initiative.
The Coffee For Your Thoughts project aims to create a platform
to encourage the community to give us their ideas and proposals to create a
better community. Zocards will be printed and distributed for people to submit
their ideas. Ideas collected will be reviewed and compiled into an ideas bank.
Residents will be invited to join us for the focus group discussions.

Reaching out to youths: Mayor's Lecture Series
The second in the series where prominent speakers are invited to speak to
youth on topics of youth interest. A/P Yaacob Ibrahim delivered the topic of
Responses of Singaporean Youth in Changed Circumstances last year.
This September, Dr Ng Eng Hen will focus on the resiliency of youth, "Singapore:
Our Home, Your Inheritance".
Reaching out to students: Camp Imagine!
Camp Imagine! is to inspire and channel students' energies to play an active
role in the community. The camp is organised by the High Five Youth Alumni.

Phase 2: Pay It Forward
To promote active citizenship, the CDC should also
work on changing people's attitudes towards the community. To make this happen,
the CDC will inspire the people to feel passionate about the community through
'Pay It Forward'.
The Pay It Forward Organising Committee comprising of the
CDC volunteers has been established and a series of activities and programmes
have been planned.

It Forward!
Phase 3: Focus Group Discussions
The aim of the focus group discussions is to
gather feedback on what residents want to see in the district. The focus group
discussion will help us to ascertain the ideals of the community and to determine
the possible proposals to carry out.
Phase 4: Public Involvement
This phase will involve the residents' actual contributions in realising
the ideas formulated at the focus group discussions, 'Coffee for your Thoughts'
and the Camp Imagine!
We welcome schools, organisations or Voluntary Welfare Organisations to work
with us to implement community projects too.

We look forward to build a self-reliant and vibrant Central Singapore Community.
